The Deka Pool Safari Area is a magical concession bordering onto the world famous Hwange National Park in the Sinamatella Region of the Park. Close to the town on Hwange and a mere 150km (90 miles) from Victoria Falls this area has easy accessibility with no air charters required and only a 1 hour and 30 minute drive from Victoria Falls International Airport.

Forming part of the Matetsi Safari Area, Deka lies in a game rich and hunters paradise. The big four is readily available with large maned lions and elephant in excess of 50 pounds a side common.

The safari camp is a traditional tented camp, located on shady bank of the perennial Lukosi River and it is common to hear lions roaring and hyenas calling during the early hours of the morning and evening.

With bathrooms en-suite, electricity from a 220v generator and fresh clean water from the camp borehole our clients can be assured of comfort yet experiencing a true African Safari Camp.

The vegetation in the the area is predominantly combretum, mopane and terminalia woodland, with small rivers and hills throughout. Lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo are common as are kudu, zebra, impala, hyena, warthog and duiker. Less common but occurring in the concession are sable, waterbuck and eland.

With over 40km of unfenced boundary with Hwange National Park, Deka offers clients a totally free range hunting opportunity, no fences, no gates, true wilderness!
